The Cost of Seminary

The cost of seminary

Trying to Understand the Cost of a Seminary Education? Seminary students from the Alabama-West Florida Conference come from a broad range of backgrounds and financial situations.  However, many of them, especially those with families, find it very, very difficult to meet all of their financial obligations while trying to obtain a seminary education without taking [...]

Karl & Brenda Stegall served for 40 years within the AWF Conference. Upon retirement,  Karl vowed he would devote the remaining years of his life to providing financial assistance for seminarians that were struggling financially. Why We Give

The Millsaps

Temple and SuSu Millsap

Deciding years ago to give annually to the Stegall Seminary Foundation was one of the best decisions my wife, Susu, and I ever made and one we have never regretted.

We love the fact that almost every penny we give goes DIRECTLY to seminary students who now in so many cases are being forced to accept a vow of poverty as one of the costs of their decision to serve God. Most of them had to quit their regular jobs and uproot their families and in case after case, it is as big a sacrifice for their families as for the seminarian.

Over the years, we have gotten so many heartfelt thank-you notes from young seminarians who didn’t know how they were going to financially make it through, but still trusted that God would supply their needs. How can any of us look away from this? A gift now to these worthy seminarians will make it possible for them to spend their future sharing the Good News with others. I can’t think of a better investment.

Of all the ways you can give to the Stegall Foundation, one of the easiest ways  is through a planned gift. SuSu and I did this and nothing could have been easier or nearly as gratifying. We get to collect and use the income on our gift as long as we are living and we are comforted knowing the Stegall Foundation will be taken care of long after we are gone. Please contact the Foundation to find out just how easy it is to be a partner in ministry! – Temple Millsap

Carlisle was serving at the time as Executive Director of the Alabama-West Florida Conference Headquarters which [...]

    A Simple Note

Many of our wonderful donors frequently reach out to our seminary students with cards and letters. These seemingly small gestures really connect with the students and help them feel supported and encouraged during stressful times. One current student at Candler School of Theology, Kristen Etheredge, recently wrote to the Foundation to share how much these [...]
